Comparison
Kythro vs WhatsApp and Google Calendar
This is the most common setup in small dental clinics, and it is not a stupid one. WhatsApp is where patients already are. Google Calendar is free, shared, and works on every phone. Together with a receipt book they will carry a single-chair practice a long way. The problem is not that the stack is bad. It is that none of the three pieces know about each other, so the patient record only exists in the head of whoever was on shift.

When WhatsApp and Google Calendar fits
- •You are a single dentist seeing a handful of patients a day and you can hold the practice in your head.
- •You are three months into a new clinic and want zero fixed costs until volume justifies them.
- •You need something running this afternoon with no setup.
When Kythro fits
- •Patient conversations live on a staff member's personal number and leave when they do.
- •You cannot answer 'what was done for this patient last year' without scrolling a chat.
- •Reminders are sent by hand, one message at a time, when someone remembers.
- •You have no idea which enquiries turned into patients, because enquiries are just chat threads.
- •Month-end means adding up a receipt book and hoping.

Questions
We like WhatsApp. Do we have to stop using it?
No, and you should not. The change is which WhatsApp. Moving to the official Business Platform means messages send from a clinic-owned verified number, several staff can work the same conversation, and every message attaches to the patient record. Patients see the same familiar app; the difference is entirely on your side.
Is a personal WhatsApp number actually a problem?
Two real risks. First, sending many near-identical messages a day from a consumer number is the pattern most likely to get it restricted, and losing that number means losing every patient thread on it. Second, when the staff member leaves, so does the history. Neither shows up as a problem until the day it does.
How long does it take to switch?
Start forward rather than backwards. Create patients as they walk in, run the appointment book in the system from day one, and leave the old chat history where it is. Most single-clinic teams are running daily operations within a week, well inside the 30 day trial.
