Specialty modules
Pick the specialties your clinic delivers; Kythro tunes appointments, inventory, the catalog, and templates to match.
Kythro is built for any dental practice, not just orthodontics. A clinic enables the specialties it actually delivers (any subset of ortho, restorative, endo, perio, hygiene, pedo, prosthodontics, and oral surgery) and the rest of the app adapts. Appointment subtypes, inventory categories, treatment-catalog seeds, clinical-note templates, and the patient-side Procedures workflow all follow the picked specialties.
The problem this removes
Most dental PMS products are either ortho-only or generic enough to be useless for any specialty. Real clinics deliver a mix, and the software should reflect that without forcing a workaround.
How Specialties works in Kythro
- •Eight specialty modules out of the box: orthodontics, restorative, endodontics, periodontics, hygiene, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, oral surgery
- •Onboarding presets (General practice, Ortho specialty, Endo specialty) for one-click setup; full manual override available
- •A primary specialty drives sensible defaults; secondary specialties unlock their workflows alongside
- •Appointment booking form shows specialty-specific subtypes (filling, RCT, scaling, adjustment, bonding, etc.) right at the chair
- •Inventory categories and treatment-catalog seeds rolled per specialty
- •Clinical-note template starter packs per specialty
- •Per-tenant: each clinic in a multi-location group picks its own set
Questions about Specialties
Is Kythro only for orthodontists?
No. Kythro supports orthodontics as one of eight specialty modules. General practice, endodontics, periodontics, hygiene, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and oral surgery are all first-class. A clinic enables the modules it delivers; the booking form, inventory, catalog, and templates adapt to match.
Can a clinic enable more than one specialty?
Yes, and most clinics do. The pilot clinic is an orthodontic specialty practice that also delivers restorative and hygiene work. Specialties stack: turning a second one on shows its appointment subtypes, inventory categories, and templates alongside the existing ones.
How do I change which specialties are enabled?
Settings → Specialties. Owners and admins see a toggle list with the eight specialties and three one-click presets (General practice, Ortho specialty, Endo specialty). Saving updates the booking form, inventory category list, and catalog filtering on the next page load.
